Do DNAs Control Our Biology?

Inherited Disease is a genetic problem caused by one or more abnormalities in the genome. There are some conditions in which the genetic changes are responsible for causing the condition. These are called inherited diseases or genetic disorders. However, Bruce Lipton in his book, The Biology of Belief explores how cells receive and process information. implications of this research radically change our understanding of life, showing that genes and DNA do not control our biology; instead, DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell, including the energetic messages emanating from our positive and negative thoughts.

Some of the most powerful external signals that influence the health of our cells are the energetic messages which emanate from our thoughts. Positive or negative, our thoughts have the ability to literally change our bodies and alter our physical health and well-being. This is great news because it means that we have the power to alter our lives for the better! Just because our parents drank to excess or developed cancer doesn’t mean that we will too.

Researchers measure the health of DNA by measuring something called telomeres.

Telomeres are stretches of DNA that cover the ends of our DNA strands. (Think of them as the protective plastic tips that cover the ends of shoelaces called aglets). Without telomeres, DNA would become damaged and tattered at the ends, just like your shoelaces without the aglet. Telomeres are shorter in people with chronic and degenerative diseases like cancer, heart disease, and high stress and are the key to longevity and vitality. According to Dr Christina, there are two ways to increase the length of telomeres - mindfulness and meditation, and reduce production of cortisol (which is basically reducing stress).
