Leadership is INFLUENCE. A leader has the ability to influence others to accomplish an objective and directs an organization in a way that makes it more coherent and cohesive. It is possible due to the attributes the leader possesses such as his beliefs, values, ethics, character, knowledge, and skills. Leaders are highly motivated and inspire the employees and teams that they lead. They dream big and lay down the path with such clarity that people want to follow them. They have compelling vision, seeing endless possibilities without boundaries and people are drawn in for the cause.
Leadership is not the exercise to control others and push them. It is all about bringing out the best in others. By doing this they create a positive workplace culture and give people wings to soar.
Being a good leader does not depend on how many diplomas we have received, or what title we hold in the organisation. Leaders in all realms of life and leadership know that the power they have come to hold exists because they have earned the responsibility of serving others. Leadership is ultimately a position of service, trust, and character not authority.
